Plan Commission Approves Big Half Acre Brewery Project

New, 2 comments

Yesterday, the Chicago Plan Commission gave the nod of approval to Half Acre Beer Company's plan to transform a vacant industrial facility into a brewery and tap room, DNAinfo reports. Located at 2050 W Balmoral Avenue in the Bowmanville neighborhood, the 60,000-square-foot facility will become the company's "flagship" location but will operate in coordination with the company's existing brewery in the North Center neighborhood. In addition to building a brewery and tap room, the new facility will also feature a beer garden, a tasting room and a restaurant. Community support for the project has been strong throughout the proposal phase, but now the plan is one step closer to becoming a reality.
