The brand new Logan Square Dog Park is getting its final touches and is preparing for its big grand opening on August 30. The densely populated and increasingly gentrifying neighborhood known for its green boulevards and restaurant scene is actually known for having very few park spaces, but with the 606 trail and the new dog park, the neighborhood is getting more of the recreation space it needs. The dog park plan has been in the works for the last several years, but crews officially broke ground on the project this past April. Designed by Upland Design Group, the park on Logan Boulevard will contain various dog-friendly features, including a paved dog run, an exercise ramp, water fountains and of course, plenty of trees to sniff. The dog park team is hosting a grand opening party on Sunday, August 30 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. so be sure to let your canine companion know.
