Developer to Present Fulton Market Apartment Plan Tuesday

New, 11 comments

Tomorrow evening at 6 p.m., Alderman Walter Burnett, the West Loop Community Organization and FitzGerald Associates was convene at the Merit School of Music to discuss the proposed addition to the Lake Street Lofts development at 900-924 W. Lake Street in the West Loop. Announced in April, the plan is to erect a new ten story glass and brick tower on the surface parking lot at Lake and Sangamon which will contain 81 apartments, 65 parking space and 2,415 square feet of ground level retail space. The location is just a stone's throw from the Morgan Street 'L' station, and could be a boon for both the developer and transit-dependent residents. And unlike some wild looking developments that have been proposed in the area over the last couple of years, this tower takes the West Loop's architectural history into account and does its best job to fit in with the area's stock of industrial buildings. Area residents will have an opportunity to learn more about the project and ask the developer questions tomorrow evening.
