River North Apartment and Retail Tower Finally Ready to Rise

New, 20 comments

More apartment units are on their way to River North. The city has recently issued a permit to build the foundation for the 25-story mixed-user coming to 750 N Hudson, just a stone's throw from the old Montgomery Ward Company Complex that now houses Groupon and other tech startups. The current proposal has been in the works for at least the last few years but was finally unveiled in April 2014, and after some debate over density and parking, the developer scaled back on the amount of retail space and parking. The tower will feature 240 rental units and roughly 10,000 square feet of ground level retail space when completed. Branded as The Hudson by developer Omni Group, the tower will eventually be joined by a handful of other River North apartment projects currently in the works.
