The modernist home of Chicago architect Brad Lynch of Brininstool + Lynch has returned to the market yet again with another price cut. Completed in 2008, the house is certainly nice to look at, but it has spent a considerable amount of time on and off the market over the last few years. It first listed way back in 2010 with a steep price tag of $2.6 million. However, perhaps due to the weak real estate market, the home spent a few years on hiatus. It returned to the market just over a year ago, but only shaved $100,000 off the ask. Finally, in March of this year, the home took what could be considered its first real price chop when it knocked $300,000 from the price tag. This week, the home has returned yet again, but this time it dips well below the $2 million mark after shaving off another $350,000. While the house with its custom finishes and sleek, minimal design is indeed very attractive, Chicago homebuyers may still not be thoroughly impressed with the $1.85 million price tag. Does this modernist masterpiece have another $300,000 price drop in its future? It might, but high-end homes have selling like hotcakes lately.
