Turn of the Century Time Capsule in Buena Park is Like Stepping Into Chicago's Past

New, 10 comments

You've probably seen many apartments that have a very similar floor plan and some of the ornate wood detail as this Uptown unit, but this time capsule looks like it has been perfectly preserved for the last 100 years. It's a 1,270-square-foot two bedroom condo located on the second floor of an old brick and limestone building with some pretty striking Craftsman architectural influences and everything is there—the mantel and fireplace, the ornate millwork in the formal dining room and even some vintage cabinets in the kitchen. While it is pretty marvelous and fascinating to look at, the homeowners association dues are blasphemous at a whopping $982 per month. You'd think you'd be living in a lakefront high-rise in the Gold Coast paying that much just in condo dues, but hopefully someone with an appreciation for this wonderfully preserved unit will decide to occupy it and keep it looking period. It's currently asking $379,900.
