AROUND TOWN—There are plenty of great new restaurants and bars to look forward to this summer, and Eater Chicago highlights 12 of them on its summer openings guide. New spots from Grant Achatz and Stephanie Izard are among the most anticipated.

AROUND THE STATE—Springfield lawmakers passed an ordinance this week that paves the way for happy hour drink specials, banned in Illinois since 1989, to return. It only needs Gov. Bruce Rauner's signature now.
