It was just a week ago when we first highlighted the listing of Harold Ramis' North Shore mansion, and yesterday, the home went under contract. Ramis, who attained fame throughout the '70s and '80s for his off-beat comedies, purchased the six bedroom, five and a half bathroom Glencoe home back in 1996, but his widow had recently decided to list the mansion with a $2.59 million price tag. The ivy-covered home was originally built in 1923, but has been extensively updated and features four fireplaces, two sunrooms, a large manicured lawn and an outdoor swimming pool. While Ramis' comedies—many starring fellow North Shore native Bill Murray—made him a Hollywood sensation, he kept his roots firmly planted in the Chicago area.
UPDATE: Apparently the deal has just fallen through.
