$14.5M Gold Coast Mansion Becomes Chicago's Third Most Expensive Listing

New, 4 comments

With Chicago's high-end housing market picking up steam, it's become more common to see some homes with staggering asking prices hit the market. Take for instance this 9,000 square foot mansion on State Parkway in the heart of the Gold Coast that just listed for $14.5 million. It's a century-old masonry home built in the Georgian style that has been updated with top of the line finishes. Obviously no expense was spared in rehabbing this home, and its asking price reflects this. The home sold a year and a half ago for $7.125 million, but has returned to the market asking more than double its last sale price. On the list of priciest listings in Chicago, it trails the bonkers Burling Street estate that is asking $18.75 million home and the converted electrical substation on Clark Street that is now seeking $15 million.
