The first public meeting to discuss the redevelopment of the Mega Mall site in Logan Square will take place next Thursday evening, according to a release from Alderman Scott Waguespack's office. The 2.55 acre site currently houses a string of buildings that have been long used as an indoor flea market, however retail developer Terraco Inc. has proposed demolishing the buildings on Milwaukee Avenue from Sacramento Avenue to nearly Logan Boulevard in order to construct a new residential and retail project that could bring up to 110,000 square feet of retail space, 387 parking spots and over 200 apartment units.
Alderman Waguespack has scheduled a community meeting regarding proposed plans to redevelop the Mega Mall site in Logan Square, at 2500 N Milwaukee. The meeting will be held on May 7th at 6:30 PM inside the Mega Mall. The owner of the property is planning on a mixed use development with first floor retail and residential units above. The purpose of the meeting is to allow the developer to present their concept plans and provide an opportunity for constituents to ask questions and comment on the proposal. The full proposal can be found on Ald. Waguespack's website.
