Director, screenwriter, actor and unofficial New York Knicks hype man Spike Lee will be filming his next feature film here in the Windy City. According to The Wrap and the Chicago Tribune, Lee is looking to recruit Samuel L. Jackson, Jeremy Piven, Kanye West and Common to star in an upcoming movie called Chiraq. A portmanteau of Chicago and Iraq, the term Chiraq harkens to the violent crime on the city's South Side, in which rappers King Louie, Lil Herb, Chief Keef and many others compare to the war in Iraq. While no deals with any of the aforementioned celebs have been inked, the Amazon-exclusive movie is expected to become the first high profile movie filmed in Chicago this year.
