Developer Planning New Rentals Next to Morgan CTA Station

New, 12 comments

Architect and developer Patrick FitzGerald is looking to erect a new ten story apartment tower at Lake and Sangamon, next door to his Lake Street Lofts building, Crain's reports. According to the recently filed zoning application, the new project would replace a surface parking lot with 81 apartments, 65 parking spaces and 2,415 square feet of retail space. The new building will act somewhat as an addition to FitzGerald's existing six story Lake Street Lofts, even matching the facade with a classic West Loop red brick exterior. The plan comes at a time where new apartment and office development in the bustling Fulton Market neighborhood and greater West Loop area has hit critical mass, however with its location just steps away from the Morgan/Lake CTA station, this project may become a hit for tenants that rely on public transit.
