Full-Floor Van Doren Shaw Co-op Takes Nearly $2M Price Chop

New, 2 comments

After a short three month hiatus, a 8,000 square foot unit at 2450 N Lakeview Avenue has returned to the market this past week with a sizable $1.8 million price chop. Built in 1923, the brick building was designed by esteemed Chicago architect Howard Van Doren Shaw, and this 10th floor unit has a classic old money vibe complete with heaps of mahogany, silk wallpaper and stone columns. The unit occupies the entire 10th floor of the building and when it listed for $10.75 million last July, it became the fifth most expensive residence in Chicago. While a $4.8 million unit at 3400 N Lake Shore Drive's has become the the priciest property in Lakeview, this 12 room co-op in Lincoln Park is still one of the city's priciest at $8.95 million.
