It's not been a week since the Chicago Plan Commission approved the plan to build a new transit-oriented development on California Avenue in Logan Square, and yesterday fencing was spotted already surrounding the site of the future five story building. The development is just one of several apartment projects proposed for the neighborhood, but seeing a future construction site already prepping for work certainly indicates that the neighborhood is ready for the swell of new rental units that are in the pipeline. While the project was not well received by residents initially, the developer tweaked the proposal multiple times before presenting the final 52 unit plan to the city last week. Construction permits are soon to follow, kicking the project into high gear.
