Reenact Downton Abbey in This Lovely Lakeview Duplex Condo

New, 5 comments

Aaron Schock's love for the hit PBS series Downtown Abbey may have landed him in hot water, but it's safe to say that the disgraced U.S. Representative from Illinois isn't the only person who's big on the show's vintage vibe. Set during the reign of King George V, the series takes place during the 1910s and 1920s, and this 3,000 square foot unit on Melrose Street was built in 1928, during the heyday of the Roaring Twenties. Ok, so maybe it's more Great Gatsby than Downtown Abbey, but either way, this three bedroom, four bathroom home is definitely the opposite of nouveau riche. Maybe the kitchen is nothing to write home about, but this is certainly one of those places that location scouts really should keep on their radars for filming a period piece in the Chicago area. This lovely Lakeview beaut spans the 14th and 15th floors and can be had for $750,000.
