Ex-Cub Ted Lilly Sells Wrigleyville Home for Loss at $1.835M

New, 2 comments

Pitcher Ted Lilly started with the Cubs in 2007 and bought a home at 1305 W. Waveland Avenue near the Friendly Confines that same year. While his uniform has changed, his six bedroom, six bathroom 5,400 square foot home off of the Southport Corridor hadn't changed hands, even though it was originally listed in 2010 for $2.4 million. After a brief time off the market, the home was re-listed in October for $2.1 million, roughly the same pre-recession price Lilly paid for it seven years ago. Lilly has taken a loss selling at $1.835 million, but as he knows full well as a pitcher, sometimes you just need to leave the game.
