Electric car maker Tesla Motors may be eyeing a prime location on Michigan Avenue in the heart of Chicago's Magnificent Mile shopping district, Crain's reports. The auto manufacturer is currently negotiating a lease on the first floor showroom space at the Park Hyatt Chicago in which Tesla could take over nearly 10,000 square feet of primo Michigan Avenue frontage. A new Tesla showroom at 800 N. Michigan Ave., which could attract a different kind of shopper to the area that is more known for being a tourist magnet than a destination for locals. And of course, it would likely draw quite a number of window shoppers. The news comes just a months before the company is expected to unveil its new Model 3 sedan, which is expected to start around $35,000.
