The Residence Inn by Marriott's new urban flagship hotel has reopened, renovated and restored, with an eye to preserving its distinctive past character.

This official landmark building, owned by The Prime Group, Inc., is also celebrating its centennial year. The McCormick family developed this distinctive Roanokestructure in 1915. Designed by architectural firm Holabird and Roche, the property was adorned with Portuguese Gothic Terracotta as shown in this photo.

Today, many of these details are preserved in all their gothic glory, though the rooms themselves, a mix of studios, one-bedroom and two-bedroom units, don't seem to show it. There's also a lobby bar and lounge, 7500 s.f. meeting space, fitness center, business center, and private meeting rooms.

Though the hotel opened September 21, the official grand opening event is November 10 to unleash its splendor to the world.
