The Legacy Charter School got a building permit to build a new K-8 charter school on a parcel that's currently vacant. The school, which currently has 500 scholars and about 60 employees according to their website, should be quite sizable: three stories and 62,225 s.f.
The school aims to "elevate academic expectations and instill a sense of self-respect." Their new building should also underscore that belief, because in addition to the $39,000,000 project misses no feature: they also intend it to be LEED certified.
Architect Avram Lothan will work on this school, while design and development is under Revere Properties in Grand Crossing.
