New, 7 comments

Ralph Johnson, global design director of international architecture and design firm Perkins+Will, has been elected to the prestigious National Academy, an institution founded in 1825 that promotes and preserves the nation's visual and fine arts. It consists of an honorary association of artists and architects, a museum with a permanent collection, and a school.
Last we heard of Ralph, he was involved in a five-tower project next to the River City condo complex. His overall body of work is vast, with notable works in the city including the Rush University Medical Center Hospital Tower, the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, the O'Hare International Terminal, the Boeing Headquarters, and the William Jones College Preparatory High School. His work has been exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago. A hearty congratulations, Ralph.
