The Lake Forest estate of the late John Hughes has officially closed with a sale price of $4 million. The 11,000 square foot Tudor-esque home on two acres first listed with a $5.89 million ask in October 2011, just a couple of years after the filmmaker's passing. Over the next few years, the home received a handful of price cuts but was also the focus of a couple of home and garden tours during that time. The sprawling mansion boasts six bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a renovated kitchen, an outdoor pool and landscaped gardens. Interestingly enough, when the home reappeared on the MLS in May, it actually returned with a price bump. The estate has changed hands but will continued to be remembered as the home of the legendary Hughes.
