Although many of John Hughes' movies were set and filmed in Chicago's North Shore suburbs, there's no doubt that the esteemed writer, producer and director loved the Windy City. And despite his Hollywood and New York connections, Hughes' primary residence was in the North Shore suburb of Lake Forest. Hughes had an untimely death in 2009 at the young age of 59, and two years after his passing, his large estate first hit the market. Over the next few years, Hughes' estate would take price chops and bounce on and off the market. Most recently, the 11,000 square foot home listed last February for $4.295 million. However, for Hughes' fans who aren't looking to pony up a few million dollars for his estate but simply would like to just take a tour, the upcoming 2015 Lake Forest Showhouse & Gardens will be featuring the home of the late John Hughes. From April 25 to May 17, tours will be lead through the seven bedroom, six bathroom home, and visitors will be able to get an up close and personal glimpse of their favorite filmmaker's home and attend a lecture from designer Alessandra Branca.
