Lincoln/Belmont/Ashland Project to Include New Whole Foods?

New, 8 comments

Now that the old LaSalle Bank building and the adjacent Medic Building at Lincoln, Belmont and Ashland have been demolished, a new development can now take shape. At this point, it's still unclear what the new project will bring to the busy corner however, the mystery behind the new development from Novak Construction will end tonight as the project will be formally presented at the West Lakeview Neighbors meeting this evening. According to an email from the organization, it appears that the upcoming development will include a new Whole Foods flagship store.

Previous reports indicated that Target may be planning a new neighborhood concept store that would require a much smaller footprint than its usual big box stores. However, a flagship Whole Foods store will likely be quite big and fill a large amount of the available 60,000 square foot ground floor retail space. Although no renderings for the new plan have been made publicly available just yet, West Lakeview residents will be able to get a first look tonight at the Mystic Celt at 7pm. The organization will also discuss new updates regarding the transit-oriented development coming to Lincoln and Roscoe.
