Weekend Open House Report: Ukrainian Village Edition

New, 1 comment

It's the weekend, so that means it's time to relax, catch up on chores and go shopping for a new home. This weekend, there are several open houses in the Ukrainian Village, but two particularly great homes. First up is a historic greystone single family home, which has been updated but is probably about as good as renovation jobs get. Second in the report is a contempo condo on Chicago Avenue. Check 'em out in person while they last.

1049 N Hoyne Ave
Asking price: $769,000
Size: 2,575 square feet (3 bed, 3 bath)
Days listed: 2 days
Open house: Sunday, Sept. 7 @ 1pm
The skinny: Here's a historic greystone that has been renovated, and boy does it look incredible. A lot of the greystone rehabs in Logan Square and other trending neighborhoods tend to be a bit overkill, with much of its vintage charm being totally gutted out. But not with this place. It is vintage and authentic, but also very livable. Considering that greystones in Logan Square are going for about the same price, this place will likely not last too long.

2242 W Chicago Ave #302
Asking price: $439,900 (+$271/monthly HOA dues)
Size: 1,200 square feet (2 bed, 2 bath)
Days listed: 1 day
Open house: Sunday, Sept. 7 @ 11am

The skinny: Though contempo condos are by no means rare or hard to find in the Wicker Park/West Town/Ukrainian Village area, what can set one apart is its location. This particular condo is situated on the third floor of its building which is located smack dab in the middle of the Uke Village on Chicago Avenue.
