Some new condos could be coming to Lincoln Park soon, if a developer's plan can win support from residents. According to Crain's, developer Lexington Homes is currently eyeing the Market Place grocery store at Diversey and Hampden, and wants to replace the one story structure with a 17 story tower which would be composed of 78 condo units, ground floor retail and 81 parking spaces. The area is already quite dense, but there may be pushback against the plan, as the project would dwarf its direct neighbors. The Park West Community Association and Alderman Michele Smith are planning a meeting for Monday, September 8 to discuss the new proposal.
