Basecamp River North, an upcoming row home development in the Near North Side is coming along nicely, with foundations set and the remaining building permits being lined up. Announced in December, the project's 47 units at 450 W Oak Street sold out in June, perhaps signaling pent up demand for new single family homes in the area. Led by CMK Companies and Ranquist Development and designed by Pappageorge Haymes, the project will bring nearly four dozen new single family homes to a previously empty stretch that was once part of the sweeping Cabrini-Green public housing project. Ranquist is no stranger to row houses, as the company has erected 30 of them in Logan Square over the last few years.
