Landmark 'Race House' in Old Irving Park Lists for $799K

New, 3 comments

Old Irving Park is known for its vast inventory of vintage Victorian homes, but the home at 3945 North Tripp is particularly special. Built in 1874, this Victorian Italianate was the home of one of Irving Park's founding members Stephen A. Race. The 5,800 square foot home was designated a Chicago Landmark in 1988, and in 2002 the home received an extensive renovation. Though it certainly looks updated, the home still has some Old World charm to it. The home has bounced on and off the market for the last few years, and at its priciest was once listed for $1.99 million. Today it can be had for just $799,000.
