Alright, so the landmark Harriet Rees House has not been moved yet, but McCormick Place reps have confirmed that the expected move date will be sometime in late October or early November. A previous timeline had anticipated that the 126 year old mansion would be loaded up on a huge 29-wheel dolly and transplanted to its new home at 2017 S. Prairie Ave. last month. However, the move has been delayed, and the timeline has been updated. According to contractors Bulley & Andrews, the Rees House will be prepped for its move this week, and then next week, the foundations at its new location will be installed. If all goes according to plan, the coach house will be moved at the end of this month, and the actual Rees House will be relocated about three to four weeks later.
