If developer LG Development Group gets its way, a whole stretch of storefronts near the Polish Triangle in Wicker Park will be razed to make way for this shiny seven story glass structure. The developer purchased the buildings between 1237-1253 N. Milwaukee Avenue and 1230-1240 N. Ashland Avenue last year, and in June, LG Development filed a zoning application for the properties to move forward with the plan that would add 58 new apartments and nearly 13,000 square feet of retail space to the area. According to DNAinfo, the development would include 49 one-bedroom units, six studios, and three two-bedroom units and was designed by an in-house architect. Previous plans for the development showed drawings from Jonathan Splitt Architects. In total, the development will weigh in at 50,000 square feet of space. There will be one more community meeting to discuss the development, and if it is approved by Alderman Moreno, construction could begin early next year.
