Watch Last Week's Entire Derecho Storm In One Minute

New, 1 comment

The city has largely recovered from last week's wild derecho storm, but Chicago's unusually rainy weather has been continuing. Local photographer Craig Shimala set up his camera gear last Monday to catch the whole derecho storm, and condensed all of the footage down into this time lapse sequence. At one point, the Willis Tower, Hancock Center and the Trump Tower are all struck by lightning at the same moment - but this isn't the first time Shimala has captured this phenomenon on camera. Thankfully the weather held off for the Fourth of July, but more thunderstorms may be on their way.
