Last week, Curbed Chicago rode along for the Cadillac and Architectural Digest "Driven by Design" event, a tour of four architecturally significant properties scattered throughout Chicago. The stops included:

The Godfrey Hotel - a new boutique hotel whose modern architecture reflects that of nearby bridges and skyscrapers
The Ambassador Residence - an enormous penthouse where architecture is the background for the homeowner's extensive art collection
The Doblin Residence - a former minimalist bachelor pad that has recently been retooled to accommodate new family members
The WMS Boathouse at Clark Park - home of the Chicago Rowing Foundation, which sports a state of the art indoor rowing facility.
