Before developer John Buck could get started on constructing his new 41 story tower at 200 North Michigan Avenue, the previous building had be demolished and the site cleared. The demo of the mid-rise structure began back in February and finished earlier this month. Justin Smith, a photographer who works in the building across the street set up a camera and took a still image of the demolition crew every 60 seconds between April 16 and July 11, and compiled all of the photos together to create this interesting time lapse video. Buck recently scored the first permit needed to get started on foundation work, but more are expected to come soon. The new tower is slated for an early 2016 completion.
