Here Now, 100-Year-Old Photos of Chicago's Greatest Parks

Generations of Chicagoans have enjoyed the many public spaces that make up the city's park district, and fortunately, the Library of Congress has catalogued decades' worth of images of Windy City residents enjoying the great outdoors. Chicagoans are proud of their existing public spaces, and beyond excited for the new parks currently in the works. Perhaps Chicago's best known park, Grant Park is located in the center of the city and features some of the city's most important tourist destinations. Just north of Grant Park lies Lincoln Park, another one of Chicago's largest and oldest public spaces. Even further north is Edgewater Beach, which was once the destination for the wealthy.
