The Chicago Riverwalk Extension is Not Having a Great Week

New, 8 comments

The Chicago Riverwalk extension construction crew has not had a great couple of weeks. First there was last week's wild derecho storm, which dumped heaps of water on the city, flooding the site along the Chicago River, and now, a small barge that was being utilized for the construction of the extension has sunk. According to DNAinfo, it's not entirely clear why the small barge sank, but it appears that the small vessel likely starting sinking last night. Curbed photog Harry Carmichael stopped by to take a few snaps of the barge as it slipped under the water's surface.
