A. Montgomery Ward Park in River North will soon have a new and improved dog park according to Alderman Brendan Reilly's office. Currently, the area has a leash-free "dog friendly area" (DFA), however, the green space will soon be receiving a full on dog park that will have new fencing and retaining walls. Pooches will be able to roam through the park leash-free on the new dog friendly running surfaces and drink from a new water fountain that will be at dog height. New benches will also be provided for dog owners. The city is looking to make very quick work on the new dog park, and expects a completion by the end of this month.
