Perhaps this may not come as a huge surprise to many, but the city's plan to roll out a Bus Rapid Transit system in the central Loop has been delayed. Originally intended to be completed before the end of 2014, the plan to speed up buses on Washington and Madison via dedicated lanes and raised boarding platforms will be ready sometime in 2015 according to new reports. The culprit for the delay seems to be that several water mains under the street need to be relocated to accommodate the new islands and bus platforms, and such road work will take a bit longer than originally anticipated.
