A residential stretch of Wood Street in East Village will soon sprout a super contemporary new "monolithic" triplex residence from NYC based design shop, Spacecutter. Dubbed "Cut Triplex", the new three story, 5,300 square foot residence with its solid black brick exterior will certainly be an imposing presence on its quiet street. Previous projects from the design shop include the complete overhaul of a 19th century duplex in hip Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Unlike other contemporary homes that feature bright colors and huge street-facing windows, this custom five bedroom, five bath single family home has a dark boxy exterior, but sports a continuous 60 foot window that wraps around the second floor. The home, which already has an owner, is currently under construction and due for an autumn completion.
