Dense Apartment & Retail Proposal Emerges For Division Street

New, 6 comments

The dense southeast end of Wicker Park could soon get another large mixed-use development just around the corner from the busy Ashland, Division and Milwaukee intersection. Centrum Partners has recently unveiled plans to construct a seven story tall Hirsch Associates designed steel and glass building on a vacant lot at 1660 West Division Street, DNAinfo reports. In total, the building would feature 77 apartment units, roughly 12,000 square feet of ground level retail space and 39 parking spaces in an underground garage. Centrum, who proposed a transit oriented development in Lakeview earlier this year, wants to utilize the city's TOD ordinance for this particular proposal to cut down on the total number of parking spaces. The Polish Triangle has been the center of attention for a number of proposed developments, and if the new projects for Division Street move forward, the area could look a lot different within the next year or two.
