Construction of Narrow 27-Story Hilton Garden Inn Begins

New, 8 comments

The small sliver of space between the Chicago Motor Club Building and the Church of Christian Scientists in the Loop is about to be filled with a 27-story Hilton Garden Inn hotel. Permits for the construction of the 191 room hotel were issued in February and April, and last month, construction crews began appearing at the 66 E. Wacker Place site. Curbed stopped by to snap a few shots of the scene, and so far crews are working on the building's foundation. The GREC designed structure is one of many new downtown hotels currently in the works, with several set to open within the next year. Previous reports indicated that this slim new hotel was eyeing a Spring 2015 opening, but we will have to wait and see.
