A 39-foot-tall head has sprouted out of the ground at Millennium Park. To honor the 10th anniversary of Jaume Plensa's Crown Fountain, Millennium Park will be displaying four cast iron and resin sculptures from June 18 until December 2015 as part of "1004 Portraits." Over 1,000 Chicagoans were filmed for the LED videos displayed in the fountain, and roughly 960 are in rotation (hence the 1000-ish "portraits"). The first, situated at Michigan Avenue and Madison Street, is titled "Looking Into My Dreams, Awilda." The other three — "Laura," "Paula" and "Ines" — will be displayed in the South Boeing Gallery and will be smaller in scale. The Creator's Project speculates the four heads could be Plensa's subtle reminder that the Park was delayed four years and cost four times as much as expected.
