A new 11 story mixed use development is coming to 707 North Wells Street, in the heart of River North. Initially revealed last summer by Campus Acquisitions as a 12 story building, developer Akara Partners now controls the site and is moving forward with an updated rendition which will include 51 apartment units, 4,600 square feet of commercial space and 51 parking spaces. The parking and commercial space will fit into the building's two level podium, and the residential units will begin at the fourth story. According to a newsletter from Alderman Brendan Reilly's office, the proposal does not require a zoning change and will proceed as an "as of right" project.
