Clark & Belmont Tower Sails Through Plan Commission Vote

New, 20 comments

The proposed eight story tower for the corner of Clark & Belmont has survived its final community meeting Wednesday evening and made it through the Chicago Plan Commission without a hitch yesterday afternoon. In just seven months since it was first introduced, the mid-rise tower had received not only a complete aesthetic overhaul, but it also received multiple height changes, ultimately settling at eight stories tall. After recently being chopped down in size, the tower's final design will include 90 rental units, two levels of retail and 39 residential parking spots. Now that all the hurdles have been overcome, the developer's next step is to get permits lined up and start building away. Lakeview residents will be able to say hello to a completed tower late next year.
