West Loop Surface Lot Begins Transformation Into Tower Block

New, 16 comments

Keep an eye out for construction crews at 601 West Jackson, as JeffJack Holdings has begun to transform a surface parking lot into a 15 story apartment tower. Once completed, the large Thomas Roszak designed tower block will contain 190 rental units, 33 parking spaces (so says the construction permit) and ground level retail. According to the most recent permit that was issued for the project last month, the building will be LEED certified and will also sport a green roof. The parking lot was once planned to have a 16 story tower with 240 units, but the idea was scrapped only a few short days days after it was announced. As the West Loop continues to boom, developers are rushing to cash in on trendy neighborhood, and this new contemporary residential tower should certainly be a much welcomed addition to the area.
