Check Out These Vintage Chicago Plan Commission Maps

Chicago history buffs, this post of Second City map porn is dedicated to you. Our friends over at Curbed NY recently uncovered a treasure trove of vintage maps of New York via the New York Public Library's website, but of the 20,000 historical maps in their digital library, only one was of Illinois. However, many other libraries have digitized old print pieces and uploaded them to the internet and made the images free to use and share via Creative Commons licenses. Eric Fischer, a history and cartography buff has explored various library collections and added a number of Chicago maps from San Francisco's Prelinger Library's archive to his Flickr account. Here are a few of our favorites.
