Riverstone Residential is rounding the homestretch and putting the finishing touches to its 269 rental unit project Halsted Flats, Lakeview's newest large mixed use development. Work on the 15 story structure began nearly two years ago, and the developer is currently aiming for a mid-May completion. The building began taking in its first residents in March, and according to Riverstone reps, the units are currently 44% leased and 12% occupied. Mostly comprised of one bedroom units, Halsted Flats also contains two and three bedroom units, as well as convertible units (with only eight still available). Amenities include a private dog park, indoor bike storage, electric car charging area, outdoor pool, and a swanky club room. In addition to its residential offerings, the building has 10,000 square feet of retail space at the ground level. Units aren't cheap at the new development, with convertibles starting around $1600 per month, one bedrooms running in the range of $1800-2500 per month and three bedroom units fetching just under $5,000 a month.
