Uptown residents have just been given a first look at a rather large development planned for a vacant site near Clark and Lawrence. The project was recently announced by Alderman Pawar via Facebook, and earlier today, Uptown Update announced that the developer, Candea Development, is wasting no time in getting started on the sizable residential building and has already started clearing out the site. The development will be new condos, 19 of them according to DNAinfo, starting at $450,000. In his Facebook post, Alderman Pawar stated that the new Mariano's was crucial in securing the condo plans for the long empty site, which he referred to as an eyesore. Construction will begin soon, and the new condos are slated for a summer 2015 completion.
