Thanks to a helpful tipster, we have knowledge that a developer plans to convert the long empty Borden's Dairy building at 312 West Chestnut Street into a 46 room hotel. Urban Holiday will be operating the yet-unnamed project and has applied for a zoning change for the property located near Walter Payton College Prep. In addition to the new hotel rooms, the developer is seeking 14 off-street parking spaces for the property. The company currently owns a hostel in trendy Wicker Park, and all guesses would indicate the the new Near North Side project will be just as hip.
