Behold! Renderings Of Method's New Pullman Factory

[renderings by William McDonough+Partners]

Chicago is getting another factory? What year is it?! Method, a maker of cleaning products, broke ground yesterday on its new $30 million manufacturing facility in Pullman, on the city's South Side. The company expects a quick turn around and wants to have the shiny new building completed and opened by next year. The company is very image conscious, and wants to make a statement with its new facility where it plans to include solar panels, a wind turbine and a sprawling green roof. Method is also aiming to make the factory the first LEED Platinum certified facility of its kind in the world (consumer packaged goods). The William McDonough+Partners designed plant is expected to house about 100 employees.
