Two Hotels Compete By Offering The Most Absurd Packages

What do Google Glass and a green Chicago River have in common? Well, nothing actually, however both are part of new packages and amenities offered by two River North hotels that are competing to win your dollars. The Kinzie Hotel has recently announced its "Emerald City" package that will set guests back a whopping $13,000. For a grand total of $13,060, the package includes a two night stay at the hotel along with 18k gold and emerald earrings, two in-room pony kegs, a helicopter tour of Chicago, hangover IV hydration treatment for two, and a freaking round trip to Ireland for two. Looks like someone is taking St. Patty's very seriously this year.

Nearby ACME Hotel is also taking the plunge into the world of ridiculous amenities and offering its guests a complimentary set of Google Glass to use while staying at the trendy spot (for up to two hours). The hotel says that they are making a statement by allowing guests to explore the city through the lens of the new smart device. Nothing says "I'm not from around here!" or "Come rob me!" more than strolling around the loop at night rocking some Google Glass. Only kidding, but still, the controversial Google product has certainly developed a reputation. In addition to offering the special specs, guests can also opt to utilize the hotel's "Hair of the Dog" package which includes next morning delivery of two sports drinks, two aspirin packets and a $10 certificate to a near by burger joint. Party on Garth.
