Bloomingdale Trail: Major Progress For Bridge Construction

Over the weekend, the Bloomingdale Trail bridge improvement project (rendering at top) made some serious progress. According to the Sun-Times, crews were scheduled to remove the current bridge in place at Ashland and move it to a yard for cleaning, assessment and painting. The 606 facebook page posted the following status update on Saturday, along with two new photos, "We finished early! The bridge is in the yard, and crews opened Ashland around 3p today. Over the coming weeks the bridge - now safely ensconced in its work yard - will be cleaned, assessed and repaired. Barring unforeseen circumstances, this bad boy will then move over to its new home at Western the weekend of April 18-20."
